Manufacturing Industry Leaders Come Together to Urge Currency Manipulation Fix

Cleveland – On August 13, 2014 at 11:00 AM, leading manufacturing association presidents will participate in a press conference at the City Club of Cleveland calling for government representatives to address unfair currency policies in ongoing international trade talks and future trade agreements, to protect American jobs and economic growth. 

American Automotive Policy Council (AAPC) President Governor Matt Blunt, American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) President and CEO Thomas J. Gibson, and National Council of Textile Associations (NCTO) President and CEO Augustine Tantillo, on behalf of their members, will call for firm congressional action to help level the playing field and create jobs.

What: Address the need to include strong and enforceable currency manipulation disciplines in all future trade agreements, including the Trans-­Pacific Partnership, and the impact of such a rule on Ohio’s 47,298 auto industry jobs, 18,000 steel industry jobs, 4,796 textile industry jobs, and the state’s overall economic growth.
