FCA US, Ford, and GM Lead Made-In-America Index

WASHINGTON, D.C. – American Automotive Policy Council President Matt Blunt issued the following statement today regarding American University’s 2015 Kogod Made in America Auto Index which found that FCA US, Ford, and General Motors (GM) are the manufacturers of the top thirty-three most-“American- made” vehicles.

“The annual Kogod Made in America Auto Index is well-known for its scientific approach and methodology of determining the degree to just how ‘American-made’ an automobile is.   It captures research and development, the production process, and its economic impact on the United States.

“We’re proud to see the top thirty-three automobiles in this study are produced by American automakers.  Our auto manufacturers are well known for the quality of their products and for the millions of jobs they support across the country.  They understand the significance of ‘American- made’ and execute most of their research and development right here at home.

“FCA US, Ford, and GM continue to spur critical economic growth and innovation for America as they compete in today’s global economy.  On behalf of our members, AAPC is grateful for the recognition of their work and commitment to ‘Made in America’ vehicles.
