AAPC Applauds Advancement of New International Trade Bridge Linking U.S. and Canada

Washington, D.C. – American Automotive Policy Council President Governor Matt Blunt issued today the following statement on the advancement of a new International Trade Crossing linking Detroit, Michigan and Windsor, Ontario:

"We applaud the announcement made by the Department of Homeland Security on the advancement of a new U.S.-Canada bridge spanning the river between Detroit, Michigan and Windsor, Ontario. AAPC has long advocated for this new avenue of trade to augment the already robust bilateral trade between the U.S. and Canada, of which automotive products are the largest component. This long awaited crossing has reached another important milestone towards expanding the world's largest bilateral auto trade relationship, and strengthening the global competitiveness of the North American automotive sector."

The American Automotive Policy Council (AAPC) represents the common public policy interests of its member companies – FCA US, Ford Motor Company and General Motors Company.
